Alaina, her brother - Jalon, former NAM Chelsey McGinnis - works for Disney Channel on the show "Shake It Up"
Alaina's casting call went well... We checked in about 12:30pm, got her application & number then we took a seat in the banquet room. We watched a video with all the kids who've entered the pageant; it was very interesting & informative! We got great insight into what to expect!
Shortly after, former NAM Chelsey McGinnis came in to greet everyone! She's soooo gorgeous & so talented! Alaina was excited to know that Chelsey worked with Disney Channel now & that she got her start with NAM! Chelsey called out the next group of kids to interview with the judges. Alaina was first up; she was #26!
She was gone only about 15 minutes when she came back with a little grin on her face lol... I asked her how it went & she started running down some of the questions the judge asked her: "What's your fave movie? What's your fave book?" Then Chelsey came back & gave us all the information we'd need to prepare for the pageant this summer!
After the all the details, the kids got to take pictures with the current NAM LA Jr. Teen, Miss Mirandy Li! She's so pretty! After we left the banquet hall, we ran into Chelsey outside so I asked if she'd take a photo with Alaina & she did :) - both pic are above! Now the thing is, depending on how the kids did in the judge's interview, they'll get a call within the next three days... or NOT "/ so I'm hoping she gets that call by Wednesday letting her know if she's moved on to the state finals! Waiting with great anticipation!
